Actually, Wellbutrin is usually not a good choice for someone with anxiety disorder; it can exacerbate it. Your boyfriend's mileage may vary, of course. A dose increase that is much higher is not an option since I am bipolar & my doc does not want me to go into mania. When I first tried to quit smoking, i took a friends Wellbutrin out as a trial period, I loved it, I quite smoking right away. My most major side effect is what feels like blood rushing/surging/pulsing through my veins in my head and down my arms into my hands periodically throughout the day. Therefore, the potential exists for a drug interaction between WELLBUTRIN and drugs that are the substrates or inhibitors of the CYP2B6 isoenzyme (e. It also gives you a VERY BAD dry mouth which is extremely irritating as well. The medicine keeps me going all dayno longer come home and sit on the couch exhausted and too insecure to go out.
